Australia Post Depot at Brisbane Airport

BRISBANE,QLD

Swarly Road Construction was engaged to deliver asphalt surfacing and resurfacing works for the Australia Post Depot at Brisbane Airport. The project required surfacing over 4,000m² and the installation of nearly 2,000 tonnes of asphalt. Through competitive pricing and careful planning, we successfully secured the project and were able to deliver the works on time and within budget.

Given the proximity of the nearest asphalt plant, located just seven minutes from the site, we were able to source materials at competitive rates. This strategic advantage not only reduced cartage costs but also allowed us to implement an efficient workflow that minimized downtime. The project required close coordination with subcontractors and suppliers, and our team worked seamlessly to ensure the delivery of 1,500 tonnes of asphalt in the first shift. With a focus on quality, the second shift was dedicated to the final overlay, which was completed to the highest standard, ensuring the surface met all expectations.

Throughout the project, we prioritized environmental responsibility. Sustainable materials, including emulsified bitumen for the prime component, were used to minimize environmental impact.
We also sourced asphalt with recycled content, further reducing our carbon footprint. Waste materials were managed and disposed of in compliance with environmental regulations, while dust suppression and noise monitoring techniques were implemented to minimize disruption to nearby areas.

The project was completed ahead of schedule, significantly improving the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the Australia Post Depot. Our ability to deliver high-quality results within tight timeframes reinforces Swarly Road Construction’s position as a trusted leader in large-scale civil construction projects across Southeast Queensland.

Lakeside International Racetrack

Location: Kurwongbah

The recent resurfacing project involved the profiling, priming, and asphalting of 5,971m². Over the course of four days, Swarly Road Construction successfully completed all phases of the work. On Day 1, we supplied and operated a 2-meter profiler to mill the surface to a nominal 60mm depth, including the cartage and on-site disposal of the material. Day 2 saw the application of AMC00 prime at a rate of 0.8 L/m² to ensure proper bonding. Days 3 and 4 involved the supply, laying, and compaction of 896 tonnes of AC14 asphalt A15E binder across two days, at a consistent 60mm depth. The project also included a full paving crew, secondary paver, operators, cartage, and tack, where required. The project was completed efficiently and to the highest standards, ensuring a durable, long-lasting surface.

Nolan Meats Carpark

Location: Gympie

The Nolans Meats project in Gympie involved the extension of the existing staff carpark, along with a full resurfacing of the carpark and road entrance. Spanning over 15,000m² and utilizing more than 1,200 tonnes of asphalt, the project was completed in just 2 days. Our team efficiently managed the works, including priming and asphalt cartage with our own fleet.

New Subdivision Development at Regency Downs

Location: Regency Downs

The recent project at Regency Downs involved the prime and asphalting of a small subdivision spanning 3,450m², completed in two stages. The team first applied K2 24-hour prime over the entire area to ensure proper bonding for the asphalt layer. Following the priming, a total of 304.64 tonnes of Type 2 320 asphalt were supplied, laid, and compacted at a nominal 30mm depth. The project was carried out efficiently with a full paving crew, operators, and all required cartage and materials, resulting in a durable and smooth surface.

New Subdivision Development at Laidley

Location: Laidley

For the 600-tonne housing subdivision, located nearly an hour from the nearest asphalt supply plant, we ensured seamless coordination and on-time delivery. Using the latest CAT paving equipment and a fleet of walking floor trucks for efficient material transport, our experienced team completed the entire project in a single shift. We also conducted full asphalt material testing, with all asphalt cores conforming to the highest quality standards, guaranteeing the durability and reliability of the finished product.

New Subdivision Development at Carseldine

Location: Carseldine

This recent project at Carseldine, a small subdivision, involved the prime and asphalting of 1,057m². Our team first applied SAMI K2 24-hour prime over the entire area to ensure optimal bonding for the asphalt layer. Following the priming, we supplied, laid, and compacted 85.5 tonnes of Type 2 320 asphalt at a nominal 30mm compacted depth, including cartage. The project was completed efficiently with a full paving crew and all required materials, resulting in a smooth and durable surface that meets the highest standards.

Moreton Downs State School Driveway & Turn Around Bay

Location: Deception Bay

The recent project at Moreton Downs State School in Deception Bay involved both a primer seal and asphalting across 778.52m². On Day 1, our team applied CRS emulsion 10mm primer seal to the area to provide a durable bonding layer for the asphalt. On Day 2, we supplied, laid, and compacted 105 tonnes of AC14 320 asphalt at a nominal 50mm compacted depth, including cartage.
This project was carried out during school hours, so maintaining a safe environment for students and staff was a top priority. We implemented effective dust control measures and adhered to all environmental and safety protocols throughout the duration of the works. The project was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to the school’s operations, ensuring a smooth and durable surface that met the highest standards.

Main Road Project

Location: Willawong

On one of the busiest roads in Willawong, we completed the reconstruction and resurfacing of nearly 500 meters of road, including over 1,000 tonnes of deep lift and 600 tonnes of wearing course. Despite working on a restricted road space during dayshift, we delivered the project on time and within budget. Our client was highly satisfied with both our efficiency and our strict adherence to PPE and SWMS requirements, ensuring safety on the active site.
